Environmental Policy
Speed Couriers Nationwide Ltd · Company number 06699062
Our commitment
Speed Couriers Nationwide Ltd recognises that road transport and courier operations have an impact on the environment. We are committed to conducting our business responsibly, reducing avoidable environmental impacts where reasonably practicable, and continually looking for opportunities to improve the efficiency of the services we arrange. As a nationwide courier company working with independent transport providers, we recognise that our environmental responsibilities include the decisions we make when arranging, coordinating and managing deliveries.
Our environmental objectives
Reduce unnecessary mileage
Wherever practical, source suitable vehicles close to collection points and plan deliveries efficiently.
Use appropriate vehicles
Match vehicle size and capacity to the requirements of each consignment, avoiding unnecessarily large vehicles where suitable alternatives are available.
Work responsibly with transport partners
Take environmental considerations into account when selecting and reviewing independent courier providers, alongside safety, reliability, suitability and service requirements.
Reduce paper consumption
Encourage electronic quotations, booking confirmations, delivery instructions, invoicing and proof-of-delivery documentation.
Minimise waste
Reduce unnecessary printing and office waste, reuse materials where appropriate and encourage responsible recycling.
Support legal compliance
Conduct our own activities in accordance with applicable environmental legislation and expect transport partners to meet the legal requirements relevant to their operations.
Improve awareness
Encourage environmentally responsible working practices in our everyday decisions and communications.
Balancing efficiency with service requirements
Our customers frequently require urgent, dedicated same-day deliveries. We recognise that these requirements can limit opportunities for load consolidation or shared transport. Our approach is therefore to minimise avoidable environmental impact without compromising safety, the security of consignments or agreed customer requirements.
Responsibility and review
Management is responsible for maintaining this policy, communicating its principles and reviewing opportunities for improvement. We will review this policy periodically and update it when our operations, legal obligations or working practices materially change.
